Apprentice Plant Engineer Location: Anglian Plant, Rackheath, Norfolk. NR13 6ST Type: Full-time Apprenticeship Qualification: Level 2 Construction Equipment Maintenance Mechanic About the Role Anglian Plant is looking to recruit an Apprentice Plant Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in plant engineering, learning hands-on while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. You will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining practical skills and technical knowledge in the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of plant and equipment. Key Responsibilities • Assist with the servicing, maintenance, and repair of plant machinery • Support fault diagnosis on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems • Carry out inspections and basic repairs under supervision • Learn and follow safe working practices, risk assessments, and company procedures • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment • Complete college attendance, off-the-job training, and portfolio evidence as part of the apprenticeship • Develop technical knowledge and practical skills in line with the apprenticeship standard Training & Development • Enrolment on the Level 2 Construction Equipment Maintenance Mechanic Apprenticeship • Combination of workplace learning and block-release college training • Ongoing support, mentoring, and supervision from experienced engineers • Opportunity to progress to a qualified Plant Engineer role upon successful completion What We’re Looking For Essential: • A genuine interest in plant, machinery, or mechanical engineering • Willingness to learn and develop new skills • Good attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic • Ability to work safely and follow instructions • Basic Maths and English (or willingness to work towards required levels) Desirable: • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English • Previous mechanical, engineering, or practical experience (school, college, or hobby-based) • Interest in hydraulics, electrics, or engines What We Offer • Competitive apprentice wage • Full apprenticeship training and college fees covered • Supportive team environment • Long-term career opportunities within Anglian Plant Role Details • Permanent & full Time position • Core hours 07:30 – 17:30 Mon-Fri | 1 in 4 Saturday Mornings • Immediate start date • Three-month trial • National Living Apprenticeship wage £8ph / £12.71 over 21 How to Apply Please send your CV and a short covering note explaining why you are interested in becoming a Plant Engineer to steve.ryan@anglianplant.com.
